Itinerary

Day: 01 – Chhukung to Island Peak Base Camp (5200m)

Start your adventure as you get picked by one of our company representative from Chhukung. The steep trail ascends to the south and takes a twist at Lhotse glacier. Walk alongside the riverbed and continue to a huge rock and zigzag route. Pass the moraine of Imja and Lhotse glacier and get the beautiful view of Nuptse – Lhotse wall. Later, you will be at the base camp of Island peak. Set the tent and you can take a rest for a while. Once, the camp is ready to make arrangement of your climbing equipment and prepares yourself for the next day. Overnight at base camp

Day: 02 – Summit Island Peak (6160m) and back to Chukkung (4750m)

To avoid strong wind begin the climb to reach the summit early in the morning. Ascending from the base camp through many rock culverts and followed by a walk along the ridgeline that leads to the muzzle of the glacier. With the support of rope, now you can climb to the top which is completely filled with snow and ice. As you reached the top point, the breathtaking views of Mt. Nuptse (7879m), Mt. Lhotse (8501m), Mt. Amadablam (6856m), Mt. Cho Polu (6734m), Mt. Makalu (8475m), Mt. Baruntse (7720m) and Lhotse Shar (8383m) can be witnessed.
