Often regarded as the 'Matterhorn of the Himalayas' because of its aesthetics and pyramid shape, Mount Ama Dablam is one of the prettiest mountains in the world. Despite being at an altitude of just 6812 m, the peak has earned admiration and reputation from climbers around the globe for its unique shape and technicality. The mountain proves the saying 'one shouldn't judge the book by its cover' as it is not all manageable and easy to reach the summit as it seems with its given height and outer aesthetics. Regardless of its beauty, it demands strength and endurance from the climbers for a successful expedition. The Ama Dablam Expedition requires steep ice, rock, and snow climbing testing mountaineer's skills, making climbers who succeeded in summit scornful of their achievement even with its height being less than 7000 m.

Lying alongside Everest in the heart of the Khumbu region, mount Ama Dablam is considered a decoration of the Himalayas in Nepal. The mountain honours itself as distinct and one of a kind, starting with its name Ama Dablam, which in translation means 'Mother's jewel'. On her Southwest face hangs a glacier resembling a 'Dablam'- the sacred ornament box worn by ladies in the Sherpa community. Hence, the name 'Ama Dablam' came into existence.

The journey of the Ama Dablam Expedition begins from the Sherpa homeland as you wind up your way to the Ama Dablam Base camp. From the base camp, you'll follow the ascent through the Southwestern ridge which was the same route followed by the climbers who summited peak for the first time in 1961. The route is technically challenging and physically demanding with plenty of rock, snow, and ice, creating an intriguing climb to the top. There are a total of three high camps set up at strategic points. The climb up to Camp one is moderate, then it gets challenging and even more technical from Camp two to Camp three.

Anyone considering the Ama Dablam Expedition must have good training and mountaineering skills with previous climbing experience. With the proper skills, determination, right guidance, and support of the Sherpa, no expedition in the Himalayas of Nepal can go in vain.
