Marangu Route, predominantly known as the Coca-Cola route more popular because it can be done in fewer days and has permanent sleep huts at the campsites. One of the oldest and most adeptly entrenched trekking routes on Mount  Kilimanjaro, it remains immensely admired, despite a wide variety of other options becoming available. Climbing Kilimanjaro via the Marangu Route in 6 days, the shortest and most challenging adventure grants you the superior juncture to relish spacious scenes and a marvelous hiking adventure all the way to the summit of Uhuru Peak - the highest point on Mount Kilimanjaro and the entire continent of Africa! That said, it also has some unique aspects that set it apart from any of the other routes as well, giving the Marangu route a character and feeling that is utterly it's own.

The 6-day Marangu Route itinerary with its longer acclimatization is preferable if this is to be your first time hiking Kilimanjaro. Those who trek Kilimanjaro on the Marangu route can look forward to a Kilimanjaro route that covers the distance of 64 km (40 miles) with comfortable conditions resulting in a 92% climbing Kilimanjaro summit success rate for the long program for Kilimanjaro safaris. Named the Coca-Cola route & considered to be the easiest route of all, this has proved wrong as we have encountered a high failure rate on this route. This is due to that perception which leads to poor preparation and untimely attempt. Despite being fairly easier the final part of the summit is hard. Marangu, the only route offers hut accommodation with beds & mattresses. Marangu Route to climb Kilimanjaro, a shorter route with a steeper incline and less time for acclimatization.

As you are on the Moshi, depart from there and take a scenic drive of about 45 minutes to enjoy it. through The drive takes you through the Village of Machame to the Kilimanjaro National Park Gate. Patiently wait for our permits to be issued while watching the hustle and bustle of operations as many crews prepare for the journey ahead. See the beautiful rainforest scenery and windy trails while your guide tells you about the local flora and fauna and natural wildlife. At these lower elevations, the trail can be muddy and quite slippery. We will highly recommend gaiters and trekking poles here. Overnight in Mandara Huts.

Early in the morning after breakfast, the group will depart Mandara Hut to start a moderate trek towards the second high-altitude camp: Horombo Hut (3,720 m). When you reach the camp on this day, you will be treated to views of two volcanos at once: Kibo and Mawenzi. Several hours after lunch you will have to complete an acclimatization hike in the direction of Kibo Hut with a 200-meter gain in altitude, and then hike back down to Horombo Hut where dinner will be prepared for you. Overnight in Horombo Huts.

Today, you will spend an extra day at the Horombo Huts to allow your body to acclimate to the increasingly high altitude. You must stay at camp and relax if you are showing any signs of illness or are feeling especially tired. However, if you feel well-acclimated to the altitude, then you are free to walk up to Mawenzi Hut and admire the incredible view of Kibo and Mawenzi. Keep a steady pace and you walk the route and enjoy the magnificent landscape. Otherwise, you can take a journey to the remarkable Zebra Rocks. This requires a climb of 310 meters. Overnight in Horombo Huts.

Have a delicious breakfast and then continue the journey through the dwindling heathland that blends into a moonscape as you enter the sweeping saddle connecting Mawenzi and Kibo. Here while we stop for lunch, and later when you cross this surprisingly large saddle, you can examine the summit climb up Kibo that you will be starting in just a few hours. Overnight in Kibo Huts.

The most challenging of the trip comes today so the excitement is building as morning comes with an early start. Get ready for the most mentally and physically challenging portion of the trek. The adventure takes place when you continue the way to the summit in a switchback formation trying to stay warm and focused on the amazing sense of accomplishment that lies ahead. With a switchback motion, Ascend through heavy scree and possibly snow towards Gillman’s Point on the crater rim. You will be gifted with the most majestic sunrise during your short rest here. Capture some memories and do celebrate on reaching maybe a few tears of joy we take a few moments to enjoy this implausible accomplishment. Then, begin our steep descent down to Mweka Camp, stopping at Barafu for lunch and a very brief rest. We recommend gaiters and trekking poles for uncooperative loose gravel and volcano ash terrain. Well-deserved rest awaits you to enjoy your last evening on the mountain. Overnight at Mweka Camp.
