Bishnu Thapa, born and raised in the serene and picturesque district of Dhading, Nepal, is a visionary tourism entrepreneur, adventurer, and social contributor with over 15 years of experience in the trekking and tourism industry. He is the Executive Director and Founder of Himalayan Recreation Treks and Expedition Pvt. Ltd., a premier trekking and adventure company in Nepal dedicated to delivering exceptional experiences while promoting sustainable tourism.
Holding a Master’s degree in Business Studies and Tourism, Bishnu combines academic expertise with hands-on experience to lead innovative tourism initiatives. He is also an Executive Member of the Trekking Agencies’ Association of Nepal (TAAN) and heads the Rescue Department at TAAN, actively improving trekking safety, standards, and professionalism across Nepal’s adventure industry.
Bishnu’s passion for travel and adventure is matched by his commitment to social impact. Beyond his professional work, he actively participates in social projects and community development, believing in giving back to the society that has shaped his journey. He has traveled to over 10 countries for business and leisure, bringing global perspectives to elevate Nepal’s tourism experiences.
With a philosophy rooted in courage, dedication, and enthusiasm, Bishnu thrives on challenges and believes that “no success is achieved without risks and hard work.” Through Himalayan Recreation, he has led iconic treks such as the Everest Base Camp Trek, Annapurna Base Camp Trek, and numerous Himalayan expeditions, inspiring travelers to explore Nepal responsibly while supporting local communities.
